St. Paul Celebrates its 45th Anniversary September 24, 2000 - St. Paul Lutheran Church celebrated it's 45th anniversary of ministry in Flemington, NJ with a worship service, ground breaking on a new expansion and fellowship dinner. Over 175 members, past and present, of St. Paul were in attendance. Pastor Bruce Opsahl, the founding pastor, gave a wonderful message during the service in which he recounted the history of the church since it's founding in 1955. Pastor Opsahl reminisced with several of the founding members, who were in attendance, about the original group who made up the early congregation. He also recollected about the members who built the parsonage, church and the last expansion in 1970. Current Pastor, Otto Reinbacher and previous Pastor, Terry Herzberg, led the worship service. After the music filled worship celebration, the congregation headed out to Memorial Drive where the Ground Breaking Ceremony was held. After the Groundbreaking ceremony each person in attendance was given a 45th anniversary Christmas ornament as the entered the fellowship hall for the fellowship dinner. There was a wonderful potluck dinner that was made up of recipes that came from the St. Paul "Taste and See the Goodness of the Lord" cookbook, which contained recipes donated by the congregation.
