Begindergarten:
5-Year-Old Program

Our Begindergarten program is designed for students whose 5th birthday is in the Summer or Fall, and would benefit from an extra growth year before attending full-day Kindergarten.  

 

Begindergarten students will learn through hands-on, creative play, and teacher-directed large and small group activities.  Through play-based games and lessons, we focus on academic growth, fine and gross motor skills, and support physical development.

 

Our math program focuses on numbers and counting, sorting and classifying, measuring, and comparing. Science units encourage exploration and independent thinking through problem-solving, cause-and-effect, and predictions. Language arts includes storytelling, listening skills, sequencing, letter and sound identification, sight words, and writing. We explore art through painting and drawing which provides an interactive way to engage their imagination and self-expression.  

 

We round out our Kindergarten-ready program with building confidence, sharing ideas and interacting with peers.
